The V60 Root Rake Grapple is equipped with two position hard stops in the fully open and closed position. This feature prevents stress and damage to the cylinders when back dragging or clamping on a load. The V50 Root Rake Grapple doesn’t have the hard stop feature.
Cast, pin-on teeth allow the V50 & V60 Root Rake Grapples to cut deep into and underneath roots and piles of branches for optimal brush removal. Additionally, teeth have a long wear life and can easily be replaced.
Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.
Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.
A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice.
The hoses, couplers*, cylinders, and fittings are included with all Virnig skid steer grapples.
*Couplers not included with Compact Tractor grapples.
Virnig Manufacturing has done real world testing and research to determine the proper length and position of hydraulic hoses for a truly universal fit on any skid loader brand. We match our research with high quality hoses, properly sized couplers, and JIC (Joint Industry Council) flange fittings to prevent leaks.
Typically, the grapple bucket width should be larger than the width of the skid steer.
The material to be handled by the skid steer grapple needs to be taken into account. For example, logs can be handled easier with a wider grapple whereas dense items like rocks may overload the skid steer when using a large grapple. Always reference grapple recommended loader capacity before ordering.
If you are unsure about what width to purchase, call a local Virnig dealer or call Virnig at 800-648-2408.
