V40 Low Profile Dirt Bucket Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT BUCKET WIDTH SHOULD I PURCHASE?
Typically, the bucket width should be wider than the tires or tracks of the loader. The attachment should also have a recommended loader capacity rating that matches or is lower than the loader lift capacity.
To prevent potential overloading issues, compare the loader’s lifting capacity and tipping weight to the weight of the attachment plus the estimated weight of a load. Different materials will change the estimated weight of a load. Use caution with dense items like rocks.
Contact your local dealer or Virnig at 800-648-2408 for more information regarding proper width.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE V40 AND V50 DIRT BUCKET?
V40 Dirt Bucket’s are designed to deliver the quality that Virnig V50 Dirt Bucket’s are known for while also providing a price that is competitive. Naturally, some materials and features will be different. For a side by side analysis, see the table under the “Compare” tab.
ARE THE BOTTOM WEAR BARS THE SAME?
The V40 Dirt Bucket uses ½” X 3” wear bars compared to the V50 which uses ½” X 4” wear bars. Both models use the same number of wear bars corresponding with the width of the bucket.
CAN I GET THE SAME EDGE OPTIONS ON THE V40 AS THE V50?
The V40 Dirt Bucket can use the same Bolt-On Edge and Serrated Bolt-On Edge kits available on all other Virnig buckets. Weld-on teeth and toothbars are not available for the V40 Dirt Bucket.
IS THE V40 DIRT BUCKET WELDED THE SAME AS THE V50 DIRT BUCKET?
The Virnig V40 Dirt Bucket is stitch welded in some places, whereas the Virnig V50 Dirt Bucket is welded solid.
ARE V40 DIRT BUCKETS DIFFERENT DIMENSIONS THAN V50 DIRT BUCKETS?
The V40 Dirt Bucket is ½” shorter and up to 3 ½” more shallow than the V50 Dirt Bucket, depending on the options selected on the V50 Dirt Bucket.
WHAT IS THIS BUCKET’S BACK ANGLE AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT PERFORMANCE?
This Virnig Bucket has a 66 degree back angle. The bucket back angle affects the rollback and dump angles of a skid steer. If the angle on the back is too large the bucket may not roll back enough, and if there’s not enough back angle, the bucket may not dump properly. The higher or more vertical the back angle the more volume the bucket is able to hold.
Virnig Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I PURCHASE VIRNIG ATTACHMENTS?
Virnig sells mini skid steer, compact tractor, and skid steer attachments through a network of independently owned dealers throughout the United States and Canada. Call 800-648-2408 for assistance in finding a dealer or use the online Dealer Finder.
WHAT TYPE OF ATTACHMENT INTERFACE/HOOKUP DOES VIRNIG USE?
All Virnig skid steer attachments are manufactured with a universal mount to fit most skid steer loaders. The mounting frame is built to ISO 24410 and SAE J2513 standards.
All Virnig mini skid steer attachments are manufactured with a Toro®/mini universal mount, Bobcat® mount, or ASV® mount.
WHAT IS THE SETUP TIME FOR A VIRNIG ATTACHMENT?
Most Virnig attachments are ready to work right off the pallet.
To minimize setup time, Virnig Manufacturing requires the machine brand and model to be listed in every order for attachments with hydraulic components. This ensures proper hose length, routing, and coupler sizing. In addition, all hydraulic Virnig Attachments are tested for leaks and proper operation before leaving the factory. There may be specific scenarios in which additional setup time will be required.
HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS?
Most parts for Virnig skid steer attachments are available in-stock and can be shipped as early as the same day the order is received. Fabricated and back ordered parts are available with a reasonable lead time. Virnig uses several shipping options to provide timely and cost effective delivery to customers.
Check with a local Virnig dealer for replacement part availability.
WHAT WARRANTY DOES VIRNIG OFFER?
All Virnig parts and attachments are warranted for one year from the end user’s date of purchase, or the dealer’s date of first rental/demonstration. If the warranty period has expired, a sales receipt or first rental slip will be required for warranty consideration.
WHY DOES VIRNIG USE NITROSTEEL® CYLINDER RODS?
Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.
Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.
A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice. Learn more about the benefits of the NitroSteel® process.
