V20 Mini Skid Steer Power Rake

WHAT RAKE WIDTH SHOULD I PURCHASE?

At minimum, the Raking Width at Full Angle should be wider than your loader’s tracks. Please refer to the spec table to see which models work for your skid steer. Also note, the wider the unit the easier it will be to maintain grade.

WHAT IS THE FLOW RATE RANGE OF THE MINI POWER RAKE?

Virnig Mini Power Rakes are designed with a flow tolerance of 10-18 GPM. All hydraulic motors used by Virnig Manufacturing are rated with zero overflow tolerance. Operating at a flow rate higher than 18 GPM can lead to premature failure and will void the motor warranty.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF DIRECT DRIVE MOTOR SYSTEMS?

Direct drive systems have less replaceable wear parts and are more powerful than other drive systems. Direct drive systems are safer than mechanical systems because there are no belt or chain pinch points and no stored energy if hydraulic pressure is properly relieved.

WHICH MINI SKID STEER MOUNTS ARE AVAILABLE?

There are three mini mounts to choose from:

    • • Toro®/Mini-Universal

    • • Bobcat®

    • • ASV®

    • Universal skid steer quick tach mount not available
CAN I RUN THE POWER RAKE IN REVERSE?

Yes, the Power Rake is designed to operate in both directions. The operator should rotate the Power Rake drum in the opposite direction of the the loader.

CAN I GET REPLACEMENT TEETH?

Yes, replacement teeth are available for purchase. Note the original tooth and holder need to be cut off and the new tooth welded directly to the drum. This may take an extended amount of time. Also, teeth are a wear part and broken teeth are not considered a warranty item.

Alternatively, Virnig offers entire replacement drums, which may be a better option if many teeth need to be replaced.

WHAT SOIL TYPES DOES THE POWER RAKE WORK BEST ON?

The Power Rake is designed to be used on many soil types, but may have trouble in sticky/wet ground or weedy areas that are untended (the weeds will wrap around the drum). When working sod or compacted soil, multiple passes may be necessary to achieve desired effect.

WHICH ELECTRIC ADAPTER OPTION DO I NEED?

Virnig offers several adapters, which are designed to work with different brands and models of skid loaders. If a brand or model is not supported, Virnig also offers a universal cab-mounted switchbox that operates off a 12V accessory port. Contact a local Virnig dealer or call Virnig at 800.648.2408 for more information about adapter options.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF A HYDRAULIC ANGLE?

The Hydraulic Angle option uses an electrical adapter and a hydraulic valve/cylinder linkage which allows the angle control inside the cab. This means the operator doesn’t have to get off the platform or leave the cab until the job is complete, a valuable luxury in dusty environments or cold weather.

WHERE CAN I FIND PRICING INFORMATION?

WHAT TYPE OF ATTACHMENT INTERFACE/HOOKUP DOES VIRNIG USE?

All Virnig skid steer attachments are manufactured with a universal mount to fit most skid steer loaders. The mounting frame is built to ISO 24410 and SAE J2513 standards.

All Virnig mini skid steer attachments are manufactured with a Toro®/mini universal mount, Bobcat® mount, or ASV® mount.

WHAT IS THE SETUP TIME FOR A VIRNIG ATTACHMENT?

Most Virnig attachments are ready to work right off the pallet.

To minimize setup time, Virnig Manufacturing requires the machine brand and model to be listed in every order for attachments with hydraulic components. This ensures proper hose length, routing, and coupler sizing. In addition, all hydraulic Virnig Attachments are tested for leaks and proper operation before leaving the factory. There may be specific scenarios in which additional setup time will be required.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS?

Most parts for Virnig skid steer attachments are available in-stock and can be shipped as early as the same day the order is received. Fabricated and back ordered parts are available with a reasonable lead time. Virnig uses several shipping options to provide timely and cost effective delivery to customers.

Check with a local Virnig dealer for replacement part availability.

WHAT WARRANTY DOES VIRNIG OFFER?

All Virnig parts and attachments are warranted for one year from the end user’s date of purchase, or the dealer’s date of first rental/demonstration. If the warranty period has expired, a sales receipt or first rental slip will be required for warranty consideration.

WHY DOES VIRNIG USE NITROSTEEL® CYLINDER RODS?

Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.

Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.

A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice. Learn more about the benefits of the NitroSteel® process.
