Land Leveler Frequently Asked Questions

WHICH SURFACE MATERIAL IS THE VIRNIG LAND LEVELER BEST SUITED FOR?

Virnig Land Levelers are designed to level dry, loose dirt. Hydraulic Scarifiers may require additional cleaning with wet or sticky ground.

WHY DOES VIRNIG USE REPLACEABLE EDGES ON THE LAND LEVELER?

Virnig uses a replaceable and reversible bolt-on edge to minimize operator downtime and provide more value.

Many other levelers use smaller wear edges that are welded directly to the frame. Replacing weld-on edges is time consuming. It must be torched off and new one will have to be welded back on.

When an edge is wore out on the Virnig Land Leveler, simply undo the bolts and reverse it or install a new edge. These edges are a user-friendly choice that require minimal repair time.

WHAT MAKES VIRNIG’S LAND LEVELER SUPERIOR TO OTHERS?

The Virnig Land Leveler has a unique, rigid frame design which gives it a long overall life. The two steel frame supports that run from the back to the front give it a lot of structural integrity. The overall weight is 200-400 pounds heavier than most of the competition. The cutting edge on the Land Leveler 78-Land Leveler 90 is ⅝” thick x 8” wide. Most other cutting edges are ½” x 6”. This additional steel means less replacement cost and longer overall wear life.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF THE HYDRAULIC SCARIFIER OPTION?

The Hydraulic Scarifier allows the operator to quickly break up hard-packed soil. The teeth dig up to 6” deep and allow the dirt to be graded more easily.

HOW DOES THE HYDRAULIC SCARIFIER FUNCTION?

The scarifier uses a disconnected ram to push a steel sleeve, which pivots the shanks of the scarifier into the upward stored position. When the operator is ready to use the scarifier, the ram pulls back, allowing the toothbar to fall freely.

IS THE HYDRAULIC SCARIFIER REMOVABLE?

Yes, It is removable for repair or cleaning. However, it is not necessary to remove the scarifier when not in use.

WHAT TYPE OF ATTACHMENT INTERFACE/HOOKUP DOES VIRNIG USE?

All Virnig skid steer attachments are manufactured with a universal mount to fit most skid steer loaders. The mounting frame is built to ISO 24410 and SAE J2513 standards.

All Virnig mini skid steer attachments are manufactured with a Toro®/mini universal mount, Bobcat® mount, or ASV® mount.

WHAT IS THE SETUP TIME FOR A VIRNIG ATTACHMENT?

Most Virnig attachments are ready to work right off the pallet.

To minimize setup time, Virnig Manufacturing requires the machine brand and model to be listed in every order for attachments with hydraulic components. This ensures proper hose length, routing, and coupler sizing. In addition, all hydraulic Virnig Attachments are tested for leaks and proper operation before leaving the factory. There may be specific scenarios in which additional setup time will be required.

HOW QUICKLY CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS?

Most parts for Virnig skid steer attachments are available in-stock and can be shipped as early as the same day the order is received. Fabricated and back ordered parts are available with a reasonable lead time. Virnig uses several shipping options to provide timely and cost effective delivery to customers.

Check with a local Virnig dealer for replacement part availability.

WHAT WARRANTY DOES VIRNIG OFFER?

All Virnig parts and attachments are warranted for one year from the end user’s date of purchase, or the dealer’s date of first rental/demonstration. If the warranty period has expired, a sales receipt or first rental slip will be required for warranty consideration.

WHY DOES VIRNIG USE NITROSTEEL® CYLINDER RODS?

Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.

Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.

A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice. Learn more about the benefits of the NitroSteel® process.
