V30 Issues Poor Design

We have a V30 grapple the forward hose fitting causes the hose fitting to constantly crack. Needs to allow for more hose movement. Hoses also get into pinch point too easily. Need a way to hold hoses out of the way and allow movement of hoses when latter is raised high and in full dump position and return to none pinch point when fully lowered and grapple rolled back. We have gone through 3 hoses do to wear and breaking of front fitting. Rest of the Virnig items we have seem to work well.

Duane,

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused you, and we’d like to help find a proper solution. We’ve found most hose problems come from either improperly matched hoses to the machine or inadequate hose length. To allow more hose movement the hoses probably need to be longer but we can’t identify the exact problem until we have more information.

Pinching hoses is very frustrating. Many operators have used bungee cords and zip ties to keep hoses up and away from pinch points but still allow some movement. A simple hose re-route could solve/prevent the issue.

Feel free to call to discuss in more detail.

Sincerely,
Jamie Houdek

V30 Compact Tractor Skeleton Rock Grapple Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT WIDTH SHOULD I PURCHASE?

The overall width should be wider than the tires or tracks of your skid loader. The attachment should also have a recommended loader capacity rating that matches or is lower than the loader lift capacity.

To prevent potential overloading issues, compare the loader’s lifting capacity and tipping weight to the weight of the attachment plus the estimated weight of a load. Different materials will change the estimated weight of a load.

Contact your local dealer or Virnig at 800-648-2408 for more information regarding proper width.

CAN I USE THE V30 COMPACT TRACTOR ATTACHMENTS ON A SKID STEER?

Yes, as long as your loader has a recommended loader capacity of less than 1500 lbs, anything more can damage the attachment and void the warranty.

WHY DON’T THE V30 COMPACT TRACTOR GRAPPLES COME STANDARD WITH COUPLERS?

Compact tractors do not also come with the same auxiliary hydraulic hookup as skid steers, there is no guarantee flat faced couplers will work correctly. For that reason Virnig asks for info on the loader the grapple will be used on to ensure proper hydraulic function. All compact tractor grapples are equipped with pipe fittings from the factory unless otherwise specified.

WHY DOES VIRNIG USE NITROSTEEL® CYLINDER RODS?

Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.

Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.

A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice.

ARE HOSES INCLUDED WITH THIS GRAPPLE?

The hoses, couplers*, cylinders, and fittings are included with all Virnig skid steer grapples.

*Couplers not included with Compact Tractor grapples.
