Two-Cylinder Pipe Pallet Fork Grapple Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO THE GRAPPLE ARMS FUNCTION/HOW TO BALANCE LOAD?

The best method for securing a load is first ensure that it is centered on the grapple tines. One layer of pipes is recommended per load to distribute arm force properly. After slowly lowering the arms at an even pace and securing both sides of the load, the operator can apply full clamping force.

DO THE GRAPPLE ARMS WORK INDEPENDENTLY OR TOGETHER?

The grapple arms work independently. Depending on plumbing configuration, each arm can open and close at different intervals, so caution must be taken when clamping the load. Always close the grapple arms at a measured pace to avoid damaging or losing the load.

WHY DOES VIRNIG USE NITROSTEEL® CYLINDER RODS?

Virnig uses NitroSteel® cylinder rods because they are a superior performing alternative to chrome plating. The finish offers improved corrosion resistance and better grease retention.

Chrome plated cylinder rods can flake or pit and destroy the seals or other internal components; resulting in downtime and expensive repairs.

A NitroSteel® rod will perform better and increase the service life of a cylinder, making it the cost-effective choice.

ARE HOSES INCLUDED WITH THIS GRAPPLE?

The hoses, couplers*, cylinders, and fittings are included with all Virnig skid steer grapples.

*Couplers not included with Compact Tractor grapples.
